When Schools Demand More...Dare to ComparePower Relief Dampers Self Contained Unit Ventilators with the relief of stale air utilizing the condensing fan
(power exhaust) can be supplied by numerous manufactures. The design includes a
dual purpose fan which is required to match the incoming fresh air component to
statically balance the room. Not everyone achieves this the same way. HOW WE DO ITWith four dampers each air stream can be individually balanced. When mechanical cooling is not operating the condensor/relief fan speed can be reduced to relieve the room air only (eliminating costly cycling of the outdoor air with this fan.) With the correct selection of fan motors and a corresponding sequence of operation this design is the most energy efficient.
HOW THEY DO IT
One damper makes it impossible to balance four air streams. When the mechanical cooling is not operating the condensor/relief fan continues to run at full speed wasting energy and the high volume of unnecessary air flowing across the condensor coil leads to dirty coils, further reducing efficiency and increasing maintenance costs. |
